Buyer Reviews

IMPRESSION BASED ON Experience:
This is my second pair of Motorola two-Way radios. I have tried other bands like Midland and been especially disappointed, but Motorola has never let me down. I required two added radios for a fishing trip to Colorado so that my father, my brother, my son and I could remain in touch. I was amazed at how fine these radios did in the mountains. At one particular point I was more than three miles away from my father on the other side of a mountain and we could still speak clearly. Now I know three miles in not as far as the 23 miles range that is claimed these radios can reach, but if you know something about how these radios transmit, then you know that for it to transmit clearly by means of 3 miles of solid mountain is close to a miracle. I have a pair of Midland G-300 Two Way Radios that claim a 10 mild range that can not even reach 1/two a mile by means of forest on straight level ground. I was also impressed with the battery life. Even immediately after a extended day of heavy use these units had a lot of power left. One was left on more than night following becoming applied all day and it still had power the subsequent day.
Considering that I want this assessment to be useful to people today people today wanting to decide to buy these, I want to make a thing clear. The range claim that any 2-way radio manufacturer tends to make, is base on optimum circumstances with no structural or atmospheric interference. In real life you can in no way expect to get those kinds of ranges out of any unit. Due to the curvature of the earth I would not count on that any radio could reach farther then ten miles under standard conditions unless every single radio is located in an elevated position with a valley in in between, such as on either side of the Grand Canyon. So when you buy a 2-way radio, do not pay significantly attention to the range claims that are created. Just make certain that they will do what you will need them to and do not anticipate a miracle that deifies the laws of physics.
PROS:
Motorola top quality, great range and battery life.
CONS:
None that I can get.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
If you are searching for a very good pair of 2-way radios for hiking, camping, fishing or comparable, appear no farther. If you are searching for 2-way radios for some sort of specialized professional use or a thing else these can or might not be what you are seeking for.

I've by no means written a review before - but was motivated to write this one. This is a awesome product. My fly fishing buddy and i use these in the mountains - and they are great. Really clear. My friend even fell into the river, and soon after drying out, the radio came back to life.
