I feel like a 50's housewife saying this, but I enjoy this machine. My clothes actually do appear cleaner. I was replacing an ancient top-loader, so that's understandable, but it also performs greater than the Whirlpool Duet I also own The speed wash is a great asset--15 minutes and a load of pool towels is prepared for the dryer. Really quiet and no vibration. Plays a jaunty tune when it's completed. My only concern is that is some loads come out "hot" even even though I chose cold wash rinse. But so far every thing is in good shape!
We bought an LG 3360 really WM3360HWCA and found quickly that our clothes smelled and the towels came out crusty compared to the old leading loading Kenmore we owned. We believed we must be placing in too substantially soap so we put to use a fraction of the soap (about 1/4 cap complete of soap...nicely beneath the "usual" indicator of the unit) and place lots of added Downey in. The towels had been still crusty. We then figured we'd use the "Heavy Duty" wash with the extra rinse function and still they had been crusty and had an unpleasant smell. Then we made use of the downy dryer sheet as well as the above and they smelled slightly superior. We noticed although the towels had been washing that they had been soaked with water but there was not a single bit of additional water just soaked towels becoming tossed about but no sloshing of water and realized that the water saving device was allowing so tiny water that the towels couldn't possibly get clean particularly if there were wash clothes with bar soap residue nonetheless in them. We referred to as LG and they had us call Sears Repair. The repairman came out and watched us wash a load wash. He then mentioned "This is a widespread complaint that he hears. There is nothing wrong it is operating as it was designed. He took off the cover (screws are in the back of the machine and you pull the cover back two inches and then can lift it up) and showed a screw in the rear left side of the unit that dictates the water usage. The Screw is surrounded by a red color and if it gets turned it will turn the color blue so that they know it has been tampered with. He said he could not turn that screw but I could if I wanted to. Bottom line this unit utilizes 1/ten the water the old best loading machine used and is so water effective that the Washing machine is unable to do what it's main usage is namely to wash clothes. We adore all the capabilities of this but are not going to void a warrenty to use more water so have opted to return the unit. I do not recommend this unit and would be cautious of purchasing washing machines that are High Efficiency and have no selection to pick out water usage.
